This week we will be reading nonfiction books and I’ll be introducing the term “nonfiction text features” to my students. This is always such an abstract term for my students, so I’m going to focus less on the term “text features” and more on how to use them to understand a text.
I purchased these posters on Teachers Pay teachers and downloaded these posters for free. They will serve as a great visual reference for students. I also created an interactive resource to introduce text features to my students. I will use this book in my guided reading groups, scaffolding as necessary.
